The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, in partnership with the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the French Development Agency, is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to submit Expressions of Interest for various positions under the Value Chain for Northern Nigeria Programme.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The Value Chain for Northern Nigeria Programme is a flagship initiative designed to increase incomes, food security and resilience among smallholder farmers and other value chain actors across Northern Nigeria.

The programme focuses on developing competitive, climate resilient and inclusive agricultural value chains, with particular attention to women, youth and vulnerable groups.

The programme will be implemented across 9 participating states, namely Sokoto, Kebbi, Jigawa, Zamfara, Borno, Katsina, Yobe, Bauchi and Kano.

The National Programme Coordination Office will be based in Abuja.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The programme is seeking qualified and experienced professionals with relevant academic qualifications, technical expertise and professional experience corresponding to the positions being applied for.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of their respective areas and be capable of working effectively in complex and potentially fragile operating environments.

Applicants for specialist and management positions should possess relevant professional experience in areas such as agricultural development, rural infrastructure, monitoring and evaluation, finance, procurement, ICT, gender and social inclusion, climate change, environmental safeguards, nutrition, institutional development, communications or programme management, depending on the position.

The programme will also require professionals who can work effectively with government institutions, development partners, private sector organisations, NGOs and other stakeholders.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Interested candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest for the position they wish to apply for.

The application package should include a current CV and an application or cover letter tailored to the position being applied for.
