The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is inviting applications for multiple WASH Specialist (NO-3) positions across Nigeria under a Temporary Appointment (364 days). 💡 About the Role:
The WASH Specialist will report to the Chief of WASH/Manager and play a key role in programme development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The position involves providing technical guidance and ensuring WASH programmes are evidence-based, aligned with national priorities, and deliver measurable impact.

🎯 Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme development and strategic planning
  • Monitoring, evaluation, and results delivery
  • Technical and operational support for WASH implementation
  • Humanitarian preparedness and emergency response
  • Partnership building with government and stakeholders
  • Knowledge management, innovation, and capacity development

🎓 Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Sanitary Engineering, or related field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in WASH programmes
  • Experience in developing countries and humanitarian settings
  • Strong expertise in rural/urban sanitation, water supply, hygiene promotion, and WASH systems
  • Fluency in English (knowledge of another UN language is an added advantage)

  • Programme design, theory of change, and results-based management
  • Monitoring & evaluation, donor proposal development
  • Knowledge of national WASH policies and strategies
  • Gender equality, human rights, and WASH integration
