Role Overview
DRC is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Field Enumerators to join its MEAL team in Borno State. The successful candidates will be responsible for high-quality data collection, beneficiary profiling, and field assessments. This role is critical in ensuring that humanitarian interventions are data-driven, accountable, and responsive to the needs of the affected populations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Collection & Assessment Support
• Support the MEAL Team in conducting field assessments, baseline/endline surveys, and comprehensive beneficiary profiling.
• Ensure accurate and timely upload of collected data to designated online platforms.
• Participate in qualitative and quantitative research activities, including household surveys and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
2. Ethical Conduct & Impartiality
• Maintain strict adherence to DRC’s Code of Conduct and humanitarian principles.
• Ensure the highest level of confidentiality, credibility, and accountability regarding beneficiary information and organizational data.
• Exercise total impartiality and professionalism when engaging with diverse community members and stakeholders.
3. Asset & Information Management
• Responsibly manage and maintain organizational assets, including mobile data collection devices (smartphones/tablets), power banks, and visibility materials.
• Apply contextual knowledge of local social, cultural, and organizational dynamics to navigate community-level constraints effectively.
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements:
• Education: Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE).
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with a relief or development agency, specifically within the domain of monitoring and evaluation (MEAL).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer operations and extensive knowledge of mobile data collection tools such as KOBO Collect, ODK (Open Data Kit), or Magpi.
• Methodology: Proven experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative surveys and assessments.
• Integrity: A high degree of trustworthiness and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Desirable Skills:
• Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English, Kanuri, and Hausa. Proficiency in other local community languages is a significant advantage.
• Mobility: Full willingness and ability to travel to remote field locations up to 90% of the time.
