About the Opportunity
This fully funded position is offered through the Aquatic Microbiology Lab at Northern Illinois University.
You’ll work on an exciting NSF-funded project:
“Unraveling parasite, host, and environmental drivers of marine disease in sea urchins.”
Gain hands-on experience in:
- Microbial ecology
- Marine biology
- Disease ecology

Eligibility Requirements
- Degree (BSc or MSc) in Microbiology, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
- Research experience (PCR, DNA extraction, lab work, etc.)
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork
Bonus: Knowledge of bioinformatics or aquatic microbiology
