PROGRAMME OFFICER

A Kano State-based registered non-profit, non-governmental and non-discriminatory organization is recruiting a qualified, dynamic and motivated professional to support the implementation of the Youth4Policy Kano Project.

The project seeks to strengthen youth ecosystems through youth leadership and civic engagement initiatives, empowering young people to participate actively in public policy, governance and accountability processes across Nassarawa, Dala and Ungogo Local Government Areas of Kano State.

POSITION: Programme Officer

LOCATION: Kano State, Nigeria

DUTY STATION: Kano, with frequent travel to project communities in Nassarawa, Dala and Ungogo LGAs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the implementation of Youth4Policy Kano project activities.

Support the planning, organization and facilitation of youth leadership and civic engagement programmes.

Build and maintain effective relationships with government institutions, civil society organizations, youth groups and community stakeholders.

Prepare work plans, activity reports and other project documentation.

Support monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting processes.

Ensure timely delivery of project outputs in line with donor and organizational requirements.

Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, Political Science or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in programme management or community development.

Experience working on youth-focused projects and donor-funded programmes is an added advantage.

Excellent communication, report-writing and stakeholder engagement skills.

Good knowledge of governance, accountability and civic participation issues in Nigeria.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital communication tools.

Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills.

High level of integrity, professionalism and commitment.

Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks.
