Applications are now open for the 2026 paid internship opportunity with the International Fund for Agricultural Development, a specialized agency of the United Nations. This program offers students and recent graduates the chance to gain hands on experience working on global development challenges while based in Rome.
The IFAD Internship Programme is one of the few UN opportunities that provides financial support to participants. Interns receive a monthly stipend along with additional allowances to support housing and travel costs, especially for candidates coming from developing countries. This makes the program more accessible compared to many other international internships.
The internship typically lasts for six months and may be extended up to twelve months depending on performance and organizational needs. During this period, participants will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real projects that address key global issues.

Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled in a university with at least two years of study completed or be recent graduates within the last twenty four months at undergraduate or postgraduate level. Applicants must be fluent in English and should not be older than 30 years at the time of application.
