Position Summary
The Nutrition Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Officer is responsible for coordinating data collection analysis and reporting to monitor program performance and support impact measurement. The role strengthens field level data systems ensures quality data management and supports evaluation of project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Program and Project Design
The officer supports multi sectoral needs assessments and other project related data collection activities. The role includes training program staff on monitoring systems performance indicators and data quality assurance. The position contributes to project reviews including log frames and learning agendas while ensuring standardized data collection tools are used.
Monitoring Evaluation and Learning
The officer conducts routine monitoring visits to project sites including learning centers. Responsibilities include data verification analysis and reporting according to data quality standards. The role involves conducting post distribution monitoring baseline and endline assessments and client exit interviews. The officer ensures data validation through approved applications conducts regular data quality audits and tracks project indicators including standard humanitarian indicators. Findings are analyzed and presented to support decision making.
Information Management and Reporting
The officer supports the establishment and maintenance of project information management systems. The role ensures accurate and timely reporting aligned with project indicators and contributes to monthly and quarterly reports. The position also manages updates to the Indicator Performance Tracking Table.
Client Responsive Mechanism
The officer ensures that feedback channels are established and functional to receive complaints and feedback from beneficiaries. Responsibilities include facilitating feedback sessions supporting client satisfaction surveys and training staff on feedback systems. The role also ensures feedback mechanisms are active during project implementation.
Capacity Building and Supervision
The officer trains program staff partners and enumerators on data collection project indicators and reporting requirements. The role supports capacity building to improve program performance and data quality.
Working Relationships
The position reports to the MEAL Manager in Maiduguri and works closely with project team leads sector managers program officers and partners. The role directly supervises field monitors and collaborates with research assistants.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a degree or diploma in Statistics Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. Applicants should have at least three years experience in monitoring and evaluation.
Technical Skills
Strong skills in data collection and tool development using Kobo Collect CommCare SurveyCTO or Mobenzi are required. Candidates must have strong statistical analysis skills using STATA SPSS Nvivo Microsoft Excel QGIS Power BI or Tableau. Strong report writing communication and facilitation skills are essential. Candidates should have a good understanding of emergency response contexts and be able to work effectively in diverse teams.
Additional Requirements
Proficiency in English and Hausa is preferred.
Strong computer skills particularly in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint are required.
Ability to travel frequently with up to 60 percent field presence is required.
