The Operations Officer role is critical to ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of field operations. The selected candidates will be responsible for monitoring and tracking the performance of Business Developers (BDs) within their assigned regions, ensuring that sales targets and operational goals are consistently achieved. This includes conducting regular field visits to merchants to assess product adoption, usage, and overall engagement with OPay’s services.
A core aspect of the role involves collecting, analyzing, and managing operational data using Microsoft Excel. The Operations Officer will be expected to prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports that provide insights into sales performance, field activities, and operational trends. These insights will help identify gaps, inform decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across operations.
In addition, the role requires supporting merchant onboarding processes, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. The officer will also provide guidance and feedback to Business Developers to enhance productivity, address challenges, and improve overall team performance. Timely escalation and resolution of operational issues will also be a key responsibility.
To qualify for this position, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, with relevant experience in operations, sales support, or field operations—preferably within fintech, banking, or telecommunications sectors. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and excellent communication abilities are essential.
