CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: MURYANMU CHAMPIONS PROGRAMME 2026
Muryanmu, meaning Our Voice, is a civic technology platform designed to make reliable civic and election-related information easier for citizens to access, understand and use.
The platform was designed and developed by Tech for Peace and Citizen Lab of YandyTech Community. It provides practical information on polling units, election dates, INEC processes, Permanent Voter Card guidance, voter education, candidate information, election result analysis, election-related safety information and other civic information.
ABOUT THE MURYANMU CHAMPIONS PROGRAMME
The Muryanmu Champions Programme will select and train 20 young leaders from 6 regions of Nigeria.
Selected Champions will promote the use of Muryanmu, support responsible civic engagement, encourage information verification and digital safety, and introduce the platform to people within their communities.
The programme is supported by the Digital Democracy Initiative.
BENEFITS
Selected Muryanmu Champions will receive 2 days of intensive virtual training covering Muryanmu, responsible civic engagement, information verification, digital safety and community mobilisation.
Participants will receive a data stipend to support participation and community engagement activities.
Participants who successfully complete the programme requirements will receive a Certificate of Participation or Completion.
Selected participants will receive official recognition as Muryanmu Champions and become members of the Muryanmu Champions network.
The programme will also provide practical experience in civic technology, information verification, digital literacy and community engagement.
Champions will have the opportunity to contribute to improving access to credible civic and election information within their communities.
