Local Development Research Institute (LDRI) call for independent researchers and civil society organizations

OPPORTUNITY: FOR YOU & YOUR NETWORK

REGIONAL CALL FOR RESEARCHERS

The Local Development Research Institute (LDRI) is excited to announce a call for independent researchers and civil society organizations across 22 Sub-Saharan African countries for the Second Edition of the Global Data Barometer (2024–2025).

As the Regional Hub for this initiative, LDRI will oversee research activities in Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Cameroon, and the Gambia.

We invite applications from individual researchers and independent organizations within these countries to contribute to a comprehensive expert survey. This survey will assess policies, practices, datasets, and research related to the governance, capability, availability, and use of data within your country. The findings will undergo a peer-review process, and researchers will have the opportunity to refine their responses based on feedback.

We seek applicants who are well-known in their respective countries for their independent research work and who are not affiliated with government or political entities.

If you are passionate about advancing data for the public good and meet the criteria outlined, we encourage you to apply. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the future of data governance in the region.

Read more about this opportunity here. Application deadline is 30th August 2024, 5pm EAT.
