Job Description
Management Sciences for Health (MSH), in collaboration with Malaria Consortium, Catholic Relief Services, and the National Malaria Elimination Programme, is implementing Global Fund–supported malaria interventions across thirteen priority states in Nigeria. MSH is seeking qualified and detail-oriented HMIS/LMIS Data Entry Clerks to support on-site data and operations reviews at health facilities.
The position supports improved malaria commodity utilization and reporting by comparing Health Management Information System and Logistics Management Information System data, identifying discrepancies, and strengthening data quality. The role is critical in understanding disparities between HMIS and LMIS data and addressing persistently high malaria test positivity rates reported through the National Health Management Information System.
Main Purpose of the Job
The HMIS/LMIS Data Entry Clerk will support data triangulation activities aimed at identifying gaps, root causes, and operational challenges affecting malaria data quality, commodity management, and case management practices at health facility level.
Key Responsibilities
Extract and compare HMIS and LMIS data from source documents at health facilities
Identify discrepancies between reported service data and commodity data
Support on-site review of malaria testing, treatment, and documentation practices
Observe real-time management of suspected malaria cases by frontline health workers
Document findings related to high test positivity rates and data quality issues
Support local government and state teams to develop improvement plans
Accurately enter, clean, and validate collected data
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data quality standards
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of HND or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Public Health, Statistics, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or a related field
Experience working with HMIS, LMIS, NHMIS, or health facility data is an added advantage
Strong data entry, documentation, and analytical skills
Familiarity with malaria programs or public health interventions is preferred
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and travel within assigned state
