This exciting program offers developers, designers, and entrepreneurs the opportunity to build cutting-edge digital solutions and compete for up to ₦10 million in prizes.
About the Program
The GTCO Squad Hackathon (also known as Take on Squad Hackathon) is a nationwide innovation challenge that brings together some of the brightest minds across Nigeria to solve real-world problems using technology.
Now in its third edition, the 2026 theme is:
“Smart Systems: The Intelligent Economy”
Participants will work in teams to design intelligent, data-driven solutions that improve how individuals and businesses interact with financial systems and digital platforms.
Focus areas include:
- Fintech innovation
- Healthcare solutions
- Digital commerce
- Financial inclusion
Prizes and Benefits
Participants will compete for a ₦10 million prize pool, distributed as follows:
- 🥇 ₦5,000,000 – 1st Place
- 🥈 ₦3,000,000 – 2nd Place
- 🥉 ₦2,000,000 – 3rd Place

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must:
- Be university students in Nigeria
- Form a team of 2 to 4 members
- Have at least one technical member (developer, engineer, or data scientist)
- Possess a valid student ID
- Belong to only one team
- Be part of a cross-disciplinary team (encouraged)
What You Will Build
Participants are expected to develop innovative solutions such as:
- AI-powered financial automation tools
- Predictive systems for fraud detection and transaction security
- Scalable fintech applications using Squad APIs
- Digital platforms that enhance financial access and inclusion
