About the Role
We are seeking a highly competent and results-driven Project Lead to spearhead high-impact agricultural and SME development initiatives across multiple states in Nigeria. This role is designed for a professional who possesses a deep understanding of the Nigerian agricultural landscape and has a proven track record of translating complex project designs into successful field executions. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving value-chain optimization, fostering the growth of Agri-SMEs, and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Execution: Lead the end-to-end implementation of agribusiness and agricultural value-chain projects across assigned regions.
• SME Development: Drive initiatives focused on the growth, capacity building, and market linkage of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with smallholder farmers, government agencies, and private sector partners to ensure program alignment and sustainability.
• Performance Monitoring: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure measurable impact and donor compliance.
Candidate Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is considered a significant advantage.
• Experience: 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in agribusiness programs and SME development.
• Competencies: Demonstrated ability in project execution (not just design), a strong grasp of smallholder market systems, and exceptional leadership skills.
