Role Overview
An opportunity has emerged for a dynamic, mission-driven professional to join our team as a Junior Program Officer on a 9-month fixed-term basis (Maternity Cover). This role is designed for a proactive individual looking to gain significant hands-on experience in the non-profit and development sector while contributing to impactful community initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a supportive role in the end-to-end lifecycle of our programs, ensuring that project objectives are met with efficiency and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Program Planning & Implementation: Assist in the design and execution of project activities in alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Support the collection of field data and contribute to the drafting of comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports.
• Community Outreach: Serve as a bridge between the organization and target communities, facilitating engagement and ensuring grassroots participation in program activities.
• Administrative Support: Manage project documentation, schedule stakeholder meetings, and provide logistical support during workshops or field interventions.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with senior program staff and communications teams to document success stories and program impact.
Candidate Requirements
• Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Social Sciences, International Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Prior experience in program support, volunteerism, or internships within the development sector is highly desirable.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital collaboration tools.
• Attributes: A high degree of organizational skill, the ability to meet strict deadlines, and a passion for community-centered development.
Terms of Engagement
This is a maternity cover position with a fixed duration of nine months. The role is based in Abuja and may require local travel for community outreach and monitoring exercises.
