CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Activating the Archives of the Nigerian Left
Are you an artist, writer, filmmaker, researcher, or digital storyteller based in Nigeria?
Applications are now open for the third cohort of grantees to explore the Archives of the Nigerian Left and produce original creative work inspired by Nigeria’s pro-democracy, labour, feminist, and radical activist traditions.
Selected applicants will receive:
- Guided access to digitised and physical archives
- ₦1,000,000 production stipend
- Feature on project platforms
- Consideration for the 2026 national travelling exhibition
- Connection to archivists, historians, activists, and fellow creatives
We are especially interested in projects exploring:
- The aesthetics of struggle
- Forgotten voices and untold stories
- Internationalist links
- Then and now: history in dialogue with the present
