Open call for nominations – GRÓ GEST 2027
The GRÓ Gender Equality Studies and Training (GEST) Programme at the University of Iceland is now open for nominations for the 2027 cohort.
GRÓ GEST is a 5-month, full-time postgraduate programme (30 ECTS) running from January–May 2027, designed for junior professionals and young researchers working to advance gender equality through policy, practice, or research. The programme combines advanced academic training with applied project or research work and is fully funded.
Who can be nominated?
This call is for organisations nominating candidates. Nominees must:
– Hold at least one university degree
– Have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience
– Be fluent in written and spoken English
– Be junior professionals or young researchers (priority under 35)
– Be nationals and residents of low- or middle-income countries or conflict/post-conflict societies
– Be able to demonstrate leadership potential and clear post-programme impact
Priority is given to nominations from Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East.
Candidates from countries not on the OECD DAC list are not eligible.
Admitted fellows receive a full scholarship, covering travel, visa costs, accommodation in Reykjavík, a daily stipend, tuition, and learning materials.
