ADVANCING COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY AND BIOINFORMATICS

In line with our mission to advance research, education, and community in computational biology and bioinformatics, the ISCB Business Development and Finance Committee invites proposals for funding innovative projects that will help propel our mission forward and shape the future of computational biology and bioinformatics in 2025!
We seek proposals that:
- Advance computational biology, contributing significantly to the research, education, or infrastructure that supports our field.
- Foster community engagement by helping strengthen connections within the global computational biology community.
- Support ISCB’s strategic goals and align with our long-term objectives of community, leadership, and empowerment (view strategic priorities).
One-time funding of up to $5,000 USD is available for each selected project, with a total of $20,000 USD earmarked for investment. We encourage proposals that demonstrate clear potential to make a meaningful impact within the scope of our mission. Proposals that are travel funding or conference sponsorship based will not be considered at this time.
Submission Requirements:
- Innovation and Impact: Proposals should present well-defined goals and outcomes that contribute to the advancement of computational biology.
- Mission Alignment: Projects should clearly align with ISCB’s strategic priorities and demonstrate how they will advance our mission.
- Funds Distribution: Please indicate if the funding is required in advanced as well as details on how funds will be used.
- Proposals must not exceed two pages using 1 inch margins, 12pt font size, and single line spacing.
Proposals should be submitted to admin@iscb.org with the subject line, “ISCB Funding Proposal”, by November 1, 2024. Late proposals will not be considered.
Reporting: A brief report on the project’s outcomes will be required within 60 days of project completion to share with the ISCB community.
