ABOUT GHIV AFRICA

Global Village Healthcare Initiative for Africa (GHIV Africa) is a non-governmental, non-for-profit humanitarian/Developmental organization which started in 2014. We deliver assistance to affected populations before, during and after crisis situations.

GHIV Africa was founded to mitigate the health deficit in Africa and to provide all forms of assistance leading to improved quality of life. The organization is equally poised to support the delivery of healthcare services at the doorsteps of every African village by bridging the gap between primary health care delivery and tertiary health care services through a robust referral system.

Following these increasing needs, GHIV Africa has expanded its operations in Nigeria especially in the North-east, North-central and the North-west regions of the country and is looking for a qualified candidate who has worked in a similar role and in this contexts to support her operations as a Program Officer.

JOB SUMMARY

The Program Officer will support the implementation of GHIV Africa’s projects in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states, ensuring effective delivery, monitoring, and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Programs, project teams, and stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support project planning, implementation, and monitoring in Nutrition, Education, WASH, Food Security, Livelihood, and Protection sectors.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor project activities, identify challenges, and provide solutions.
  • Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and partners to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Develop and submit project reports, success stories, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure compliance with GHIV Africa’s policies, donor regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and capacity building for project staff and partners.
  • Facilitate community engagement, participation, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Support resource mobilization and proposal development.
  • Organize and assist in facilitating project review meetings.
  • Develop PRs for procurement of project items.
  • Develop monthly work plans on implementations
  • Collect monthly activity reports from the project managers
  • Assist the head of programs in attending sector meetings
  • Collaborate with protection unit to ensure protection, and disability mainstreaming/inclusion in the program.
  • Work across the integrated components of the project (WASH, GBV, SRH, Child protect, and protection) and make sure that they are including in narrative report on a monthly basis, and the 5Ws should be submitted to the various sectors.
  • And any other added task given by the Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Nutrition, Education, Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, etc.).
  • At least 3 years of experience in project implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Proven experience working in Northern Nigeria, particularly conflict bedeviled areas like Northeast, Northwest, and Northcentral.
  • Good understanding of Nutrition, Education, WASH, Food Security, Livelihood, and Protection sectors.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and Hausa languages.
