Apply for CIMMYT Academy’s Adjunct Scientist Program on Dryland Crops Improvement

The CIMMYT Academy is inviting applications for the Adjunct Scientist Program focused on Dryland Crops Improvement.

This competitive program aims to enhance the capabilities of regional research teams by integrating early- and mid-career scientists from National Agricultural Research Systems (NARS). The program seeks to fortify NARS-CIMMYT partnerships and empower the emerging generation of scientists through world-class networking and research opportunities that contribute to a regional vision of crop improvement.

Adjunct Scientists will engage in activities related to crop breeding, seed systems, socioeconomics, genetic improvement, and data management. Their responsibilities will include proposal writing, attending strategic meetings, and traveling to research fields or conferences.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must be active employees of a National Agricultural Research Institution in an AVISA-Transition project target country.
  • Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field, awarded no more than 10 years prior to applying, or an MSc with a proven track record of leading breeding programs for 5-10 years.

The deadline for applications is June 22, 2024.
