CONSULTANCY OPPORTUNITY | NUTRITION SYSTEMS INTEGRATION

Nutrition International is seeking a part-time Consultant to support the post-pilot revision and streamlining of its Nutrition Systems Integration Approach and Tool.

The consultancy will contribute to strengthening an evidence-based approach that helps governments and development partners identify priority nutrition needs, align interventions with national priorities, leverage existing systems and delivery platforms, avoid duplication and maximize reach and impact.

DURATION: 3–4 months

LEVEL OF EFFORT: Maximum 28 working days, part-time

ABOUT THE CONSULTANCY

Nutrition International developed the Nutrition Systems Integration Approach and Checklist to support context-specific, integrated and evidence-based nutrition programming.

Following a pilot in Kenya focused on adolescent nutrition, the organization is seeking a consultant to review lessons from the pilot and help produce a streamlined 2.0 version of the Approach and Tool.

KEY ACTIVITIES

The consultant will:

  1. Review and analyse feedback and lessons from end-users and stakeholders involved in the pilot.
  2. Develop evidence-based recommendations and adaptations to improve and streamline the existing Approach and Tool.
  3. Support the revision and development of the Nutrition Systems Integration Approach and Checklist into a 2.0 version.
  4. Develop an action plan for implementing the proposed revisions.
  5. Contribute to the development of a primer document and presentation deck.
  6. Work with the Research Specialist, Research and Development at Nutrition International, through agreed monthly workplans.

KEY DELIVERABLES

The main deliverables include:

  1. Consolidated feedback from end-users and stakeholders.
  2. Evidence-based recommendations and an action plan for revising the Approach and Tool.
  3. Revised 2.0 version of the Nutrition Systems Integration Approach and Checklist.
  4. Primer document and presentation deck.

CONSULTANT REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Master’s or PhD in Public Health, Nutrition, Global Health or a related field.

Experience:

  1. Strong experience in qualitative research, including Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions.
  2. Experience in qualitative data management and analysis.
  3. Experience with qualitative analysis software such as NVivo, MAXQDA or similar is an advantage.
  4. Experience supporting multi-sectoral programmes, multi-stakeholder working groups and/or projects in Low- and Middle-Income Countries.
  5. Proven organizational, communication and writing skills.
  6. Ability to meet tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
  7. Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Experience working across sectors to optimize programme performance is an advantage.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The consultancy is fully remote and travel is not anticipated.

If travel becomes essential, Nutrition International will provide the required travel in accordance with its standard rates.
