OUTREACH AND FIELD PROGRAM MANAGER AT SOLARDERO FOUNDATION

JOB TITLE: Outreach and Field Program Manager

LOCATION: Northern Nigeria

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Field-based, with frequent travel

JOB SUMMARY

The Outreach and Field Program Manager will lead community outreach, product distribution and impact-monitoring activities across Northern Nigeria.

The successful candidate will identify underserved schools, women’s groups and communities, build relationships with local stakeholders, coordinate distributions and monitor how beneficiaries use and benefit from the Foundation’s interventions.

This is a highly field-based role requiring frequent travel to rural, off-grid and hard-to-reach communities. Travel will be subject to appropriate safety and security assessments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Identify underserved schools, women’s groups and communities for programme support.
2. Conduct community needs assessments and recommend suitable beneficiaries.
3. Build relationships with traditional leaders, community leaders, schools, women’s groups, local organizations and government representatives.
4. Coordinate distribution of solar school bags, STEM kits, toys, solar cooking solutions and other supported products.
5. Register and verify beneficiaries and maintain accurate distribution and inventory records.
6. Demonstrate products and educate beneficiaries on proper use, care and maintenance.
7. Conduct follow-up visits to assess product usage, functionality, satisfaction and programme outcomes.
8. Collect beneficiary feedback, photographs, videos, testimonials and impact stories with appropriate consent.
9. Prepare timely field reports, programme updates and recommendations.
10. Support complaint resolution and identify potential partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
11. Ensure activities respect local cultures, religious differences, beneficiary dignity and safeguarding requirements.
12. Follow safety and security procedures and represent Solardero Foundation professionally during field engagements.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s Degree, HND or equivalent in Community Development, Social Sciences, Education, Development Studies, Project Management, Environmental Studies, Renewable Energy or a related field.
2. Candidates with substantial relevant community experience may also be considered.
3. Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in community outreach, rural development, programme implementation, field operations, M&E or humanitarian work.
4. Must currently reside in Northern Nigeria and have strong knowledge of the region.
5. Fluency in spoken Hausa and good written and spoken English are required.
6. Experience working with rural, underserved or hard-to-reach communities.
7. Strong understanding of cultural and religious sensitivities in Northern Nigeria.
8. Experience with interviews, surveys, beneficiary registration or field data collection.
9. Ability to use smartphones for photographs, videos, GPS coordinates and digital data collection.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets and Forms.
11. Strong planning, communication, organization and report-writing skills.
12. Ability to work independently, solve field problems and travel frequently, including overnight travel.
13. A valid driver’s licence and experience travelling within Northern Nigeria are advantages.
