The Tony Elumelu Foundation is recruiting qualified and experienced professionals for multiple full-time positions in Lagos.

Founded by Tony O. Elumelu, the Foundation operates on the principle of Africapitalism, which recognises the private sector as a key driver of Africa’s economic transformation.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

  1. ALUMNI & MENTORSHIP OFFICER

Location: Lagos

Job Type: Full Time

Job Level: Experienced Non-Manager

Minimum Qualification: B.Sc

Experience: 4–7 years

The Alumni & Mentorship Officer will lead the operational delivery of TEF’s alumni engagement and mentorship programmes.

Key responsibilities include maintaining a centralised alumni database covering all 54 African countries, tracking alumni business growth and impact, recruiting and screening mentors, coordinating mentorship activities, organising alumni events, developing growth-stage initiatives, and engaging Hub Leads across African countries and Nigerian states.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.

Master’s degree is an added advantage.

4–7 years of experience in programme management, alumni relations, or mentorship coordination.

Strong understanding of African entrepreneurial ecosystems and SME development.

Experience managing entrepreneurship, mentorship programmes, or professional networks is an advantage.

  1. BRAND OFFICER

Location: Lagos

Experience: Minimum 5 years

The Brand Officer will support the development, execution, and management of the Tony Elumelu Foundation’s brand across digital and traditional platforms.

Key responsibilities include designing visual assets, supporting storytelling and communication campaigns, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines, developing brand-led content, supporting reports and publications, and working with internal teams and external partners to maintain consistent brand representation.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Branding, Mass Communication, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in brand management, communications, or marketing.

Experience within a foundation, NGO, development organisation, or agency is preferred.

Strong understanding of brand management and purpose-driven storytelling.

Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

Understanding of digital and social media platforms.

Ability to work across cultures and geographies in a fast-paced environment.

  1. RESEARCH MANAGER

The Research Manager will lead the revival and repositioning of the Africapitalism Institute as a leading pan-African research and thought leadership platform.

The role will drive rigorous, independent, and policy-relevant research focused on Africapitalism, entrepreneurship, private-sector-led growth, and inclusive economic transformation across Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the strategic direction and operationalisation of the Africapitalism Institute.

Develop Africapitalism-focused curricula, teaching materials, and learning frameworks.

Translate research, data, and case studies into academic content.

Design quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.

Lead advanced analysis of Foundation and external datasets.

Generate research insights on enterprise development and economic impact.

Engage policymakers, academics, think tanks, multilateral institutions, and development partners.

Support resource mobilisation through grants, commissioned research, and partnerships.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Development Economics, Public Policy, Political Economy, Business, Statistics, or a related field.

Current or recent academic appointment at a university or research institution is highly desirable.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in academic, policy, or applied research.

Experience designing surveys and managing large datasets.

Experience conducting econometric analysis.

Proficiency in Stata, SPSS, or equivalent statistical tools.
