Call for Applications
The Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative, through its BlerSafeSpace initiative, is building a new cohort of Digital Safety Champions who will help promote safer and more inclusive digital spaces for young women and girls across Nigeria.
The internet has become an important part of how people learn, connect, express themselves, access information and participate in their communities. However, as digital spaces continue to grow, young people also face new challenges that can affect their safety and wellbeing online.
For young women and girls, understanding how to navigate digital spaces safely is increasingly important. Digital safety goes beyond simply knowing what to do when faced with online risks. It also requires people who are willing to start conversations, share knowledge, raise awareness and support others within their communities.
The Digital Safety Champions programme is designed to equip young women and girls with the knowledge and confidence to become advocates for safer digital spaces. Selected participants will have the opportunity to lead conversations, promote awareness and encourage responsible and safer participation in online communities.

Who Can Apply
Young women and girls aged 15–35 across Nigeria are eligible to apply for Cohort 1.
Applicants should be interested in digital safety, community engagement, youth development, advocacy, awareness creation or supporting safer online environments.
Programme Focus
Digital Safety Champions will be encouraged to use their voices and community networks to promote awareness about digital safety and help others better understand the challenges associated with online spaces.
The programme provides an opportunity for participants to develop their leadership and advocacy skills while contributing to efforts to build safer digital communities.
