π Role Summary
Africa is entering a transformative era in health innovation, and this role sits at the center of that progress. As the Regional Policy Lead, you will drive policy, advocacy, and partnerships that strengthen health research and development (R&D) across the continent.
You will work with governments, regional bodies, researchers, manufacturers, and global partners to translate research into real-world impactβimproving access to vaccines, medicines, diagnostics, and stronger health systems.
π― Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy for health R&D policy and advocacy programs across Africa
- Manage program execution, budgets, timelines, and reporting
- Build and sustain partnerships with governments, AU bodies, donors, and private sector
- Represent PATH at high-level policy forums and global meetings
- Drive collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project teams
- Identify funding opportunities and support business development efforts
- Develop policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials
β Essential Requirements
- Masterβs degree in Public Health, Global Health, Health Policy, or related field
- Strong experience in health R&D, policy, or public health programs
- Proven track record in advocacy and policy influence
- Deep understanding of Africaβs health innovation ecosystem
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
- Experience managing multi-country or multi-stakeholder programs
- Legal authorization to work in the country of hire
β Desirable Skills
- Experience with donor-funded programs
- Background in capacity building and technical assistance
- Multilingual ability (French, Portuguese, or Arabic) is an advantage
- Experience in management consulting is a plus
