Position Objective:
We are seeking qualified and passionate individuals to serve as Community Development Plan (CDP) Facilitators. In this role, facilitators will lead inclusive and participatory community engagement processes, ensuring that the voices of all community members—especially women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), the elderly, and those with low literacy levels—are heard and reflected in the development of ward-level Community Development Plans. Facilitators will work in close coordination with CRUDAN staff, Local Government facilitation teams, and partner organizations to guide meaningful dialogue and ensure accurate documentation of community priorities and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead inclusive CDP facilitation sessions using participatory approaches such as town hall meetings and dialogue forums.
- Utilize culturally appropriate and accessible tools (e.g., local language playlets) to enhance community understanding and engagement in the planning process.
- Support the co-facilitation of sessions alongside lead facilitators and local government facilitation sub-teams.
- Ensure active participation and representation from all community groups including women (minimum 50%), PWDs, youth, traditional leaders, and faith-based organizations.
- Promote community ownership and shared responsibility in identifying challenges, solutions, and available resources.
- Guide discussions on key thematic areas: participatory development, stakeholder collaboration, inclusive practices, root cause analysis, and solution planning.
- Facilitate the establishment of Ward Development Support Committees (WDSCs) during sessions.
- Work with rapporteurs to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of session outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with third-party facilitators from CRUDAN under the coordination of Oxfam.
- Provide supportive supervision to LGA facilitation teams while allowing local ownership of processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in community mobilization, facilitation, and participatory development.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to deliver impactful results.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and producing quality outputs under pressure.
- Demonstrated competence in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
