For both programs you are expected to arrive stationary, on camera, and fully present. We ask that you attend all sessions. One absence is okay. “Showing up” is an integral part of building relationships and personal development! 2025 program offerings:
Storytelling Fellowship
The 50 Percent Storytelling Fellowship is an 8-week program aimed at community building and self-empowerment. Our cohort (8-12 fellows) meets weekly for one hour to engage in facilitated workshops on how social issues impact their communities. Simultaneously, fellows have the opportunity to create and publish 3-5 stories in The 50 Percent Magazine.
Throughout the program, fellows explore their identities while building relationships with a global network of youth innovators, activists, and thought leaders. There are opportunities to develop skills in public speaking, presentation development, research, and narrative writing.
Young Person’s Guide
The Young Person’s Guide to Systems Change cohort is not just a program—it’s an invitation to step into the messy, fascinating, and often absurd world of systemic transformation. The cohort meets weekly (for 6 weeks) for 90 minutes.
Created by The 50 Percent, this cohort brings together young changemakers from around the world to explore how systems shape our lives, how they resist change, and—most importantly—how we can hack, rewire, and transform them for the better.
Over the course of the program, participants dive deep into systems thinking, leverage points, community-building, and storytelling as tools for change. Through workshops, discussions, and collaborative projects, they don’t just learn about systemic transformation—they actively practice it. The result? A network of young leaders who leave not only with new knowledge but with the confidence, strategies, and connections to start making an impact in their own communities.
The Guide is a journey, a testament to what happens when young people come together to rethink and reshape the world.
