Job Description:
The coordinator will lead the implementation of the Community Reorientation Women Network (CRoWN) initiative. The CRoWN project focuses on increasing routine immunization coverage, reducing the cases of zero dose among children under 5, combating malnutrition, promoting economic empowerment, enhancing education, and addressing social vices within the community through a grassroot network of community women. The women network will conduct house-to-house visits to counsel community women on key human development interventions across the family life cycle. The coordinator will play a pivotal role in coordinating, overseeing, and evaluating all project activities to ensure its success and positive impact on the target states.
Technical Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of all project activities under the Community Reorientation Women Network (CRoWN) initiative. This includes selection and orientation of women volunteers and other community CRoWN champions.
Guide the implementation of the initiative to improve routine immunization coverage, reduce number of zero dose for children, combat malnutrition, address social vices and promote positive behavior change within the community.
Design and oversee economic empowerment programs for volunteer women, including needs assessment, training, capacity building, and establishment of cooperative societies.
Engage with government agencies at state and LGA levels, C/FBOs, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders to establish partnerships and ensure project objectives are aligned.
Oversee and ensure proper recording and documentation of all interventions provided and their corresponding outcomes in the appropriate data capture tools followed by updates on recommended project databases.
Other responsibilities
Facilitate community meetings and engagement to promote dialogue, engagement, and awareness of the implementation of the CRoWN initiative.
Participate in problem-solving sessions to share updates on project progress, including achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
Manage project budgets, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
Engage actively with relevant stakeholders to foster good relationships for the benefit of the project.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, encouraging active participation of community members in project activities.
Support any other tasks as may be required by the central project management team.
Expected deliverables
Facilitate active community participation and engagement, resulting in a sense of ownership over project activities and a lasting positive impact.
Weekly submission of detailed progress reports, summarizing achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
Documented records of community volunteers on a pre-approved database.
Elevated understanding of health, child development, and nutrition among community members, evident through increased uptake of essential PHC services in targeted communities.
Education and Experience
Undergraduate or Master’s degree, preferably in Public Health or other health related field.
Previous work experience consulting in the health sector (minimum of 5 years; advantageous working with state PHCDA).
Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and data management skills.
Experienced in community engagement, program coordination, and project management in local communities is desirable.
Experience in leadership role including management and/or interfacing with high-ranking officials is desirable.
Experience working with/as part of government systems is advantageous.
Competencies required
Computer literacy and competency using the MS suite of programs.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
Fluency in the local dialects of the geographic region is an added advantage.
Excellent report writing skills.
