Opportunity Alert for Nutrition and Community Health Professionals
INTERSOS Nigeria is currently recruiting Nutrition Assistants to support critical nutrition interventions across multiple locations in Borno State.
Locations include Bama, Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC), Jere, Konduga, and Nganzai Local Government Areas. The position requires immediate availability, with a contract duration of two months subject to possible extension. This is a full-time role.

If you are passionate about improving child nutrition in vulnerable communities and have at least two years of relevant experience in nutrition programming and community outreach, this opportunity is for you.
Key responsibilities will include:
– Early detection and referral of malnutrition cases among children aged six to fifty-nine monthsÂ
– Supporting Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programs (TSFP), Non-Food Items (NFIs) distribution, Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), and conducting home visitsÂ
– Providing basic nutrition counseling and engaging with communitiesÂ
– Supervising Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs), Community Nutrition Mobilizers (CNMs), and peer group facilitatorsÂ
– Collaborating closely with nutrition officers and field teams to ensure effective program implementation
Required qualifications and skills:
– Minimum of two years’ experience as a Nutrition Assistant, preferably with experience in international non-governmental organizations (INGOs)Â
– Proficiency in spoken and written EnglishÂ
– Strong interpersonal skills, effective reporting capabilities, and counseling experienceÂ
– Commitment to humanitarian principles and protection standards
