Are you a dedicated professional passionate about making a tangible impact in community development and humanitarian efforts? The Borno Women Development Initiative (BOWDI) is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced MEAL Officer to join our dynamic team in Pulka, Gwoza LGA, Borno State.

This is a critical role that will contribute directly to the effectiveness and accountability of our programs, ensuring that our interventions are evidence-based, responsive to community needs, and achieve their intended outcomes for women and vulnerable populations in Borno State.

About BOWDI:

Borno Women Development Initiative (BOWDI) is a local non-governmental organization committed to empowering women, promoting peace, and fostering sustainable development in Borno State. We work on various projects aimed at improving livelihoods, education, health, and protection, particularly for those affected by conflict.

Key Responsibilities of the MEAL Officer:

As a MEAL Officer, you will be instrumental in:

•  Developing and implementing robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems for all BOWDI projects in Pulka.

•  Collecting, analyzing, and managing project data to track progress, identify challenges, and inform decision-making.

•  Conducting regular field visits to monitor project activities and verify data quality.

•  Facilitating learning events and discussions to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

•  Ensuring accountability to beneficiaries and other stakeholders through effective feedback mechanisms.

•  Preparing comprehensive MEAL reports for internal use and for donors.

Who We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess:

•  A strong academic background in social sciences, statistics, development studies, or a related field.

•  Proven experience in designing and implementing MEAL frameworks, data collection, and analysis, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian context.

•  Familiarity with the socio-cultural context of Borno State, particularly Gwoza LGA.

•  Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.

•  Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, Excel, statistical packages).

•  A commitment to BOWDI’s mission and values.
