Position Title: I.T. & Communication Technical Assistant
Location: Yola, Adamawa State
Reports To: Program Manager
Duration: 5 Months

Job Description

The IT & Communication Technical Assistant will support the organization’s digital infrastructure, communication systems, and information management. This role is vital in ensuring that JDPC Yola’s internal and external communication tools are efficient, secure, and aligned with the organization’s mission. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, creative, and passionate about using technology to drive social impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot I.T. infrastructure including internet connectivity and printers.
  • Manage and update the organization’s website and social media platforms.
  • Support the development of digital content (graphics, videos, newsletters) for advocacy and visibility.
  • Ensure data security, backup, and recovery protocols are in place and followed.
  • Assist in virtual meeting setups, webinars, and digital training sessions.
  • Maintain inventory of I.T. equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements.
  • Train staff on basic I.T. tools, cybersecurity, and digital communication best practices.
  • Collaborate with program teams to support digital data collection and reporting tools. Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mass Communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in I.T. support, digital communications, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, website CMS (e.g., WordPress), and graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite).
  • Familiarity with social media management and digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of data protection and cybersecurity principles is an added advantage. How to Apply
