FIELD OFFICER BORNO
PURPOSE
The holder of this position would provide supervision and promotes and values participatory approaches throughout the project cycle (identification of beneficiaries, awareness raising and sensitisation, committee formation, preparing and delivering messages, food distribution Pre and Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) as well as monitoring and evaluation under direct supervision of FSL Field Coordinator. During absence of Field Coordinator, position will be wholly accountable for given activities under direct supervision of Deputy Project Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specifically:
- Facilitate INTERSOS staff, donors’ program staff visiting in field and other key stakeholders for a coordinated implementation of project activities
- Line management for the casual worker / enumerator working for specific activities
- Coordinate, supervise and manage CBT and food distribution activities within project implementation as per plan and report same;
- Participate and provide primary level information / Assessment / Analysis in a timely & accurately manner;
- Provide regular progress reports to the FSL Field Coordinator;
- Understand, implement and / or maintain standard INTERSOS inventory management policies and procedures.
- Participate in monitoring, PDMs / assessment / verification process
- Implement other tasks as might be required with relation to the INTERSOS Country Program in Nigeria.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Experience
- University Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma;
- Minimum 3 years of experience from at national level project implementation position in a humanitarian / recovery context;
- Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts;
- Technical Food Security expertise (ware house management, In-kind and cash for food);
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
- Experience in leadership and problem solving;
- Fluency in English, both written and oral including local language will be advantage;
- Capacity to adapt to basic living conditions, patience;
- Ability to put up with pressure from government agencies;
- Ability to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines;
- Strong negotiation skills;
