About Première Urgence Internationale (PUI)
Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and non-religious international aid organization. Our mission is to support civilians who are victims of marginalization, exclusion, natural disasters, war, or economic collapse by addressing their fundamental needs. PUI has been operating in Nigeria since 2016, starting in Borno State and expanding to deep-field locations like Monguno, Pulka, and most recently, Katsina State in Northwest Nigeria.
General Objective
Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator and technical guidance from the Country Protection Coordinator, the Protection Project Manager (PM) will lead the development and implementation of integrated, lifesaving protection programs for IDPs and host communities across Borno, Katsina, and Zamfara States. This includes direct supervision of protection teams, day-to-day oversight of activities, budget management, coordination, and collaboration with other sectors and partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Implementation

Develop work plans, procurement plans, budgets, and forecasts.

Participate in proposal writing, logframes, and Indicator Tracking Tools (ITT).

Develop and apply protection monitoring tools, vulnerability criteria, and assessment methodologies.

Ensure the coherence of activities across project locations.

Lead multi-sector rapid needs assessments and referral pathways.

Provide technical support across PUI sectors for integrated programming.
2. Capitalization, Reporting & Development

Ensure qualitative internal and external reporting of project activities.

Update and transmit the Project Monitoring Tool (PMT) monthly.

Produce intermediary and final donor reports.

Document lessons learned and contribute to SOP development and activity forms.

Engage in mission strategy and programming.
3. Team Management & Capacity Building

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate protection staff.

Conduct regular performance appraisals and identify capacity needs.

Maintain knowledge of local protection trends and ensure service mapping and referrals.

Support organizational learning through training and knowledge capitalization.
4. Representation & Coordination
-
Represent PUI in protection-related meetings and coordination forums.

Participate in the Protection Working Group and contribute to common guidelines.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance project delivery.

Support donor visits and inter-sectoral collaboration with other PUI departments.
5. Logistics & Finance

Develop and manage budgeted action plans.

Monitor expenditures and participate in monthly budget follow-ups.

Ensure compliance with PUI logistics and finance procedures.

Submit monthly cash forecasts and propose reallocation where needed.
6. Safety & Security

Monitor security developments and share updates with the Field Coordinator.

Ensure adherence to safety procedures by team members.

Assess and mitigate risks related to project implementation.
