Job Opportunity: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer – Kebbi State
Active Support for Rural People’s Initiative (ASURPI) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team. Established in 2007 and headquartered in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, ASURPI partners with local civil society organizations, government agencies, private sectors, and donor communities to achieve its mission.
Project Overview:
With funding from CBM International, ASURPI will implement the BMZ-Transitional Development Aid funded project in Kebbi State, focusing on strengthening the resilience of vulnerable households in selected communities of Zuru, Fakai, and Shanga LGAs.
Position: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer
• Location: Kebbi State
• Employment Type: Contract
Purpose:
The M&E Officer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and overseeing monitoring and evaluation activities to measure the effectiveness and success of the STILNN project in Kebbi State.
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee all monitoring and evaluation activities for the Resilience Strengthening for an Inclusive Life in Northwest Nigeria (STILNN) Project in 3 LGAs of Kebbi State.
• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation strategies to assess the impact and effectiveness of project interventions.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders and partners to ensure the accurate and timely implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans.
• Supervise and support staff in conducting monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Report regularly to the Project Manager on progress, challenges, and achievements in monitoring and evaluation efforts.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive monitoring and evaluation reports to demonstrate project impact and accountability to donors and stakeholders.
• Represent the organization at project-related meetings, conferences, and events as assigned by the Project Manager.
• Monitor and evaluate project activities to assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and recommend adjustments to enhance project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with monitoring and evaluation standards, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Science, or any related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong evidence of prior participation in similar positions and field activities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with strong report writing skills.
• Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis, and production of reports.
• Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software.
• In-depth knowledge of MIS, M&E, and development issues.
• Ability to respond positively to critical feedback and different points of view.
• Fluency in English and Hausa, both written and spoken.
