Jhpiego is recruiting Roundtable Transcribers/Note Takers in Sokoto, Niger, Akwa Ibom, and FCT

Jhpiego is implementing the AMPLIPPHI project, which aims to promote the early use and scale-up of new drugs to prevent postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in several high-burden countries including Nigeria. In Nigeria, the project focuses on supporting state and national efforts to prepare for the wider use of these medicines, working at community, district, and national levels. The project is active in Kebbi and Ondo States and is conducting a study to understand barriers and opportunities for distributing misoprostol for PPH prevention at births outside health facilities. This study is taking place in FCT, Niger, Sokoto, Abuja, and Akwa Ibom.

Jhpiego is recruiting Roundtable Transcribers/Note Takers for the states of Sokoto, Niger, Akwa Ibom, and FCT. The role involves participating in virtual orientation sessions, attending roundtable discussions, taking detailed notes, and transcribing recordings accurately. The transcribers will also assist the roundtable facilitators with administrative tasks, including supporting the consenting process according to the study protocols.

Key responsibilities include ensuring verbatim transcription, proofreading transcripts for accuracy, meeting deadlines without compromising quality, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information, and securing data and recording devices.

Candidates should have a degree in Sociology, Public Health, Medical or Health Sciences Research, or Biostatistics. At least two years of relevant experience in research projects is preferred. Experience in qualitative research and community data collection is an advantage. Strong communication skills, proficiency in English and local languages of the assigned state, excellent transcription skills, and good computer literacy are essential.
