Finance coordinator LEAP AFRICA LAGOS

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to and work closely with the Senior Finance Coordinator
- in leading the design, development, and implementation of finance functions and ensuring organizational effectiveness for LEAP Africa.
- Prepare annual organizational budgets, monitoring all project and operational expenditures in line with the organization’s approved budget and work plan, including using other financial control and evaluation techniques.
- Preparation of internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, programme profit and loss reports, etc., working alongside the programme/project leads.
- Ensure daily posting of financial records on the ERP platform, generating reports and insights, monitoring information and accuracy of records, and adhering to compliance with the internal control process by the entire team.
- Control and manage cash flow requirements, quarterly cash flow statements, ensure liquidity and timely cash disbursement and ensure accurate supporting documents for all transactions, recording, and filing of documents.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations, interface primarily with the bank on all LEAP’s accounts matters, and review accounting transactions to ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support to establish and enforce proper process flow on accounting and internal control systems, payment, expense and retirement process, asset management, insurance, etc.
- Coordinate investment activities, diversifying investment portfolio in line with policy thresholds, ensuring the best portfolio mix with viable returns on LEAP’s fund.
- Support to share financial risk management responsibilities
- Support to monitor and analyze all financial and procurement activities in the organization; review relevant documents and reports; identify problems and issues; proffer and execute efficient solutions; work with relevant partners and track follow-up actions.
- Perform other organizational projects and tasks assigned supervisor and the leadership of the organization.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree and/or professional certifications (ICAN, ACCA, CPA) strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or coordinator role.
- Proven experience in budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and investment portfolio management.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, statutory compliance (LIRS, FIRS, SCMUL), and financial regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, accounting software, MS Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Experience in non-profit or development sector finance management is an advantage.
