Federal Government Rolls Out ₦1.5 Billion Funding Support for 500000 Ginger Farmers to Boost Production Youth Employment and Growth of Nigeria’s Agricultural Sector

The Federal Government has approved a total of ₦1.5 billion to support ginger farmers across Nigeria, according to thegazellenews.com.

The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Chief Sunday Dare, during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

Chief Dare disclosed that about 500,000 young farmers will benefit from the agricultural fund. He emphasized that the initiative is designed to boost ginger production, strengthen agribusiness financing, and create more opportunities for youth in agriculture.

This intervention is expected to enhance food security, stimulate the growth of the agricultural sector, and provide greater economic opportunities for rural communities.

Speaking further on government initiatives, Chief Dare highlighted the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s efforts in healthcare, noting that the cost of kidney dialysis has been reduced from ₦50,000 to ₦12,000—a 75% reduction aimed at making treatment more affordable for Nigerians.

He also announced the introduction of free Caesarean Section (C-Section) services for pregnant women as part of the government’s social safety net programs.

“The concept of social safety nets is to subsidize some of the basic things Nigerians face daily. We all agree these efforts must be scaled up, and it’s clear the President is committed to doing that,” Chief Dare stated.
