Career Opportunity: Field Enumerators for Longitudinal Youth Cohort Study in Northern Nigeria
Organization: International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), implemented by IFDC
About IFDC:
IFDC is a public international organization committed to addressing global challenges in food security and poverty alleviation across 27 countries in Africa, Asia, and America. We bridge the gap between research and impact by combining science-based innovations, holistic market systems development, an enabling policy environment, and strategic partnerships. Our focus is on assisting farmers and countries in identifying and scaling sustainable agricultural solutions, including improved nutrient use efficiency, to boost soil health, enhance crop productivity, and reduce the environmental impact of fertilizer use. IFDC translates research into action through locally driven, environmentally sound, and impact-oriented solutions, working with partners to close the yield gap, eradicate global hunger, safeguard soil, and generate economic resilience for farming households and countries.
Project Overview:
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), with support from the Mastercard Foundation (MCF), is conducting a longitudinal youth cohort study in northern Nigeria. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the livelihood trajectories of young men and women in rural areas, examining how their livelihood experiences intersect with family formation, health, and community engagement. The study will also identify the livelihood-related barriers, opportunities, and risks faced by young individuals in this region.
