Call for Proposals: Skills, Training, and Education Program (STEP)

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and its partners have launched a Joint Call for Proposals under the Skills, Training, and Education Program (STEP), aiming to empower refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities in select member countries.
Key Highlights
· Program Name: Skills, Training, and Education Program (STEP)
· Target Countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Chad, Cameroon, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Türkiye, Palestine, Uganda, and Yemen
· Development Goal: Reduce poverty by supporting young refugees, IDPs, and vulnerable host communities through:
1. Enhanced access to education, focusing on smart education
2. Skills development and entrepreneurship incubators
3. Creation of green jobs
· Expected Impact by 2027: Benefit 650,000 children and youth from the targeted groups
· Eligibility: NGOs, civil society organizations, academic institutions, or consortia thereof with a physical presence and implementation capacity in the target countries
· Proposal Submission: Proposals must be submitted in English as a single PDF document using the provided template, sent via email to STEP@isdb.org and m.alhadi@isdb.org by 5:00 PM Jeddah time on June 12, 2025
· Alignment with SDGs: Contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty), 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)
