Call for Expression of Interest: Experts on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS)
Researchers Without Borders (REWiB) is a regional feminist organization dedicated to promoting the implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda in Africa. We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified experts to provide research, analysis, and strategic recommendations on WPS initiatives.
Background:
REWiB’s mission is to monitor and advocate for the implementation of the WPS agenda in Africa, focusing on researching security trends and their impact on the WPS agenda. We collaborate with feminist researchers and peace activists to promote sustainable peace and security through the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325.
Scope of Work:
Selected experts will provide input, analysis, and strategic recommendations on WPS initiatives, including:
– Research: Conducting studies on the intersection of gender, peace, and security
– Capacity Building: Designing and facilitating workshops and training for stakeholders
– Policy Advocacy: Engaging with policymakers and international institutions to advance WPS agendas
– Monitoring & Evaluation: Evaluating the effectiveness of existing WPS programs and strategies
– Advisory Support: Providing technical advice on WPS and building partnerships for solidarity and collective action
Eligibility Criteria:
The ideal candidates should have:
– Advanced academic qualifications in political science, international relations, gender studies, law, or a related field
– A minimum of 3 years of experience working on issues related to Women, Peace, and Security
– Expertise in gender-responsive peacebuilding, human rights, and security sector reform
– Experience in research, documentation, and publishing
– Proven experience in policy development and advocacy at national, regional, and international levels
– Fluency in English (French is an added advantage)
