Call for Applications: West Africa Solutions Journalism Fellowship
Nigeria Health Watch is inviting eligible health journalists across West Africa to apply for the West Africa Solutions Journalism Fellowship. This is a four-month hybrid fellowship running from July to October 2025, designed to empower journalists to produce evidence-based, solutions-oriented stories that highlight successful initiatives within West Africa’s public health sector.
The fellowship combines in-person engagements with virtual workshops, providing a comprehensive learning experience. Applicants should be journalists based in West Africa with strong storytelling skills and a minimum of three years of professional experience. Exceptional early-career reporters are also encouraged to apply.
To apply, candidates must submit a completed application form along with a letter of commitment from their affiliated media organization or, in the case of freelancers, a letter of support.
Fellows will benefit from training, mentorship, editorial assistance, and funding to develop impactful health stories. Additionally, the program aims to build a regional network of changemakers dedicated to improving public health outcomes.
The deadline for applications is 30 May 2025.
