Call for Applications: Bonn International Fellowships 2026
Are you an internationally recognized researcher or academic seeking a funded short-term research visit to Germany? The University of Bonn is pleased to announce the Bonn International Fellowships for 2026, offering a unique opportunity for global scholars to collaborate with our esteemed faculty.
We invite University of Bonn faculty members to apply for the Bonn International Fellowships, which will support visits from leading international researchers for up to 12 days during the 2026 calendar year. This is a chance to foster international collaborations, exchange ideas, and contribute to Bonn’s vibrant research community.
Fellowship Benefits:
• Travel Allowance: Receive a travel grant, the amount of which will depend on the fellow’s country of origin.
• Daily Stipend: A generous stipend of €160 per day will be provided for up to 12 days to cover living expenses during the stay.
• Academic Event Funding: Access to €500 to support the organization of academic events, such as workshops, seminars, or mini-conferences, related to the fellow’s research.
• Networking Opportunities: Engage in public lectures, seminars, and informal discussions to share your expertise and build lasting relationships with colleagues at the University of Bonn.
• Partnership Development: Explore opportunities to establish new and strengthen existing partnerships with one of Germany’s leading research universities.
Eligibility:
Please note that applications must be submitted by a University of Bonn faculty member acting as the host. International researchers cannot apply directly; they must be nominated by a Bonn faculty member.
Important Dates:

• Fellowship Period: January – December 2026
