Call for Applications: 2025 Nigerian School on Internet Governance (NSIG) Fellowship
The Internet Society Nigeria Chapter (www.isoc.ng), in collaboration with key industry partners, is pleased to announce the commencement of applications for the 2025 Nigerian School on Internet Governance (NSIG). Now in its seventh edition, this prestigious programme is designed to enhance Internet Governance capacity within Nigeria by equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to actively contribute to the evolving global Internet ecosystem.
The NSIG is a renowned capacity-building initiative that has, over the years, empowered numerous Nigerians to assume influential roles in shaping Internet policies and governance frameworks both nationally and internationally. The 2025 edition of the school will be hosted in Nigeria and will take place immediately prior to the Nigerian Internet Governance Forum 2025 (NIGF2025). This timing provides participants with a unique opportunity to engage directly with the national forum, gaining firsthand experience in the deliberations and decision-making processes that define Internet Governance at the national level.
A limited number of fellowships will be awarded, supported by sponsorships from corporate organizations and public agencies committed to fostering digital inclusion and governance excellence. These fellowships are intended to cover participation costs and provide access to all programme activities. Given the importance of diversity and inclusion in Internet Governance, female candidates and young adults are especially encouraged to apply.
Applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in Internet Governance issues, a commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s digital development, and a willingness to actively participate in all aspects of the programme. The fellowship offers a comprehensive curriculum covering key topics such as digital policy development, cybersecurity, human rights online, and the role of various stakeholders in Internet Governance.
Interested individuals are invited to submit their applications through the official application form available at:
The deadline for submission is June 27, 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
This fellowship represents an unparalleled opportunity for individuals passionate about the future of the Internet in Nigeria to deepen their understanding, expand their professional networks, and contribute meaningfully to national and global Internet Governance discourse. We look forward to receiving your applications and welcoming a new generation of Internet Governance leaders.
