Job Summary
Bincike International is seeking highly motivated and experienced Community Mobilisation Officers to join our team in Katsina and Kaduna. This is a strategic role focused on working with women and girls in conflict settings, promoting peacebuilding and community engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities
As a Community Mobilisation Officer, you will be responsible for:
Facilitating Community Engagement: Leading and supporting community-led initiatives focused on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and social cohesion, particularly among women and girls.
Stakeholder Mobilisation: Identifying, engaging, and building strong relationships with local community leaders, women’s groups, youth groups, traditional institutions, and relevant government agencies.
Program Implementation: Supporting the effective delivery of programs and activities designed to empower women and girls, enhance their participation in peace processes, and address their specific needs in conflict-affected areas.
Capacity Building: Providing training and mentorship to community members, particularly women and girls, on topics related to peacebuilding, advocacy, and conflict mitigation.
Monitoring and Reporting: Documenting community activities, collecting relevant data, and contributing to regular program reports to track progress and impact.
Advocacy and Awareness: Raising awareness on issues affecting women and girls in conflict settings and advocating for their rights and inclusion in peacebuilding efforts.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor’s Degree with 5-10 years work experience.
Experience: Proven and extensive experience in peacebuilding and community engagement, particularly in conflict or post-conflict settings.
Language: Fluency in Hausa is mandatory.
Local Knowledge: A strong understanding of the social, cultural, and political dynamics of Katsina and Kaduna states, with demonstrated working experience in these regions.
Residency: Preference will be given to candidates who are indigenes of Katsina or Kaduna State.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
