FOUNDATION, is to implement a project in Northeast Nigeria (Adamawa State). The aim is to strengthen local food systems and create job opportunities for young women and men through an inclusive agribusiness value chain. This initiative aligns with WFP’s objectives of strengthening local food systems and creating job opportunities for young women and men, transforming lives, and enhancing private sector engagement to achieve zero hunger by promoting financial inclusion and empowering youth economically.
In this context, we are seeking a strategic and empathetic Human Resources Officer to lead HR initiatives aligned with our organizational goals. This role is pivotal in enhancing employee engagement, optimizing talent management, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations.
JOB DETAILS
Location: Adamawa State.
Duty Station: Adamawa State
Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension. Reports to: Operations Manager Starting Date: October 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Talent Acquisition & Retention.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
- Develop retention strategies to reduce turnover and enhance employee satisfaction.
- Employee Relations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to staff and management on HR policies, conflict resolution, and workplace culture.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback for continuous improvement.
- Performance Management.
- Oversee performance appraisal systems, providing guidance on goal-setting and career development.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
- Compliance & Policy Development.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and update HR policies to reflect best practices.
- Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR analytics for data-driven decisions.
- Strategic HR Initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with organizational objectives.
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs to foster an equitable workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years in HR roles, with expertise in recruitment, employee relations, and HRIS.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and regulations.
- Experience with HR software (e.g., HRIS, payroll systems). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent knowledge of writing skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to build trust and encourage a cordial working environment among the team.
- Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to plan, balance, and cope with competing priorities. Ability to establish priorities in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines.
- Excellent in operating computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.
