Training on Ethical Reporting of Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

Gender Educators Initiative  (GEI) with support from the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund ( NYFF) calling on female Journalist in Sokoto to apply for its Ethical and Sensitive reporting of Gender Based Violence training.

The  one day training aim to build the capacity of the female  journalists on best approaches to GBV reporting in the media.

Female journalists based in Sokoto State who are passionate about ethical Gender-Based Violence (GBV) reporting can apply for this training.

The Gender Educators Initiative (GEI), with support from the Nigeria Youth Future Fund (NYFF), invites applications for a one-day intensive training on ethical GBV reporting.

This programme is designed to strengthen the capacity of women in the media to report GBV with sensitivity, accuracy and professionalism.

What to Expect:

  • Practical on-site training sessions with expert-led presentations and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentorship opportunities with experienced resource persons.
  • A platform to publish GBV-related stories developed during the training.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Female journalists who live and work in Sokoto State.
  • Female campus journalists.
  • Journalists working in Print, Radio, Television, and Online platforms.

The deadline for applications is October 21, 2025.
