Join the SDG Alumni Training Seminar 2025: Adapting to Climate by Developing Circularity (AC/DC)
Are you passionate about advancing sustainable water management, climate change adaptation, and the circular economy? This comprehensive training seminar, supported by DAAD and funded by BMZ, offers an exceptional opportunity for Germany alumni from African Union countries to enhance their expertise, network with professionals, and engage in hands-on learning.
Programme Highlights
Online Phase (8th February – 16th May 2025)
Interactive sessions every Friday covering topics such as climate change, EU regulations, efficient water management, sanitation in a post-pandemic world, women in water management, and more
Preparatory sessions for the in-person training in Johannesburg.
In-Person Training in Johannesburg (1st – 7th July 2025)
Expert-led workshops on agro-ecology, wastewater reuse, African climate adaptation strategies, and the circular economy.
Networking sessions with scientists, industry leaders, and alumni presentations.
Field trips to the University of Mpumalanga and Kruger National Park.
IFAT Africa 2025 (8th – 10th July 2025)
Participate in Africa’s leading trade fair on water, sewage, and recycling solutions, addressing the theme: “Water, Sewage, Refuse, and Recycling: Solutions for Sub-Sahara Africa”.
Eligibility
This seminar is open to Germany alumni who:
Are citizens of African Union countries on the OECD DAC list.
Have professional experience in water management, climate adaptation, or related fields.
Demonstrate the potential to act as multipliers for sustainable practices in their communities.
Benefits
