Are you an undergraduate studying maths, physics, computing, chemistry, MFL or a related subject? Are you interested in experiencing life as a teacher and being a part of educating the future?

Have you ever thought about a career in teaching and want to find out what a career in teaching is like?

If so, apply to take part in our Paid Teaching Internship Programme, funded by the Department for Education.

You can be in any year of an undergraduate degree course or be undertaking a master’s course.

This is a 3-week Internship which starts on the 16th June 2025 and interns will receive £425 per week – a total of £1275 for full attendance on completion of the programme.

Travel to Barr Beacon School is expected as part of the internship as the base for BBSCITT.

The programme involves:

A combination of teaching, running subject-related projects, offering intensive support for children who are struggling, helping with experiments and laboratory work.
Opportunities to complete a project presentation which will be presented to members of the schools’ leadership teams.
Access to one-to-one mentors who are inspirational classroom teachers in their specialism.
Opportunities to network with qualified subject specialists.
