Apply to the spacetech masters scholarship programme

The SpaceTech Masters Scholarship is a prestigious program designed to foster the growth of space professionals. Offered by the Graz University of Technology, this scholarship enables recipients to enhance their technical and managerial skills, positioning them for success in the space industry.

The SpaceTech program is designed to advance the careers of space professionals by equipping them with top-tier technical and managerial skills. With a legacy of producing leaders in the space sector, TU Graz’s SpaceTech program has enabled participants to excel in roles such as space project managers, system engineers, key researchers and other leadership roles up to director/CEO level.

We are delighted to announce that (TU Graz) together with SGAC is offering scholarships to attend the SpaceTech Master’s Program on two different application tracks.

One (1) full scholarship will be granted to a highly motivated and qualified candidate, who otherwise would not have the opportunity to participate in the program (e.g. due to financial burdens). This full scholarship is worth €39,000, and will require passing through an additional application and selection process, and is offered in a separate application track. This scholarship does NOT include traveling and living expenses, which shall be covered by the scholarship winner.

Partial scholarships worth €7,000 are available to all SGAC members applying to the SpaceTech 2025 Master program. The partial scholarship is provided as a discount to all SGAC Members, so their program fee is €32,000 Euro for the 2-year program, payable in two instalments in the two consecutive years.

Both application tracks address mid-career professionals from all over the world. Participants join an elite cohort and engage with numerous space professionals in a very practical oriented master program. Besides attending dedicated lectures and input sessions, the participants work together on a Central Case Project (CCP).

The CCP focuses on the systems engineering design process and business engineering process and requires participants to work together as an integrated team to create a design for marketable, space-related products or services. The CCP team’s task is to design a space system from end to end: determine the market needs for a specific product or service and design a complete system to provide the product or service to meet those needs. The team operates as a company proposing a new business opportunity to potential investors and a consortium’s board of directors for financing. Emphasis is placed on the economic and management aspects, as well as systems and technical aspects, and thus aims to cultivate leaders who can navigate the complexities of the global space sector.

The SpaceTech Master is designed to empower mid-career professionals with the expertise and leadership skills required in the dynamic aerospace industry. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum, including space mission analysis, space systems engineering, project management, and business development. Participants will gain hands-on experience by collaborating on real-world space projects and engaging in interdisciplinary teamwork.

Graduates of the program will be equipped to lead complex international projects, develop innovative solutions for the aerospace sector, and manage multicultural teams. The program’s unique structure includes both online and in-person sessions, hosted at leading institutions and space agencies across Europe, providing participants with unparalleled exposure to the global space industry.

The TU Graz Scholarship provides a generous grant of €39,000 to selected applicants who demonstrate financial need and a strong motivation to pursue a career in space technology. This award supports the development of talented individuals, empowering them to drive innovation and advancement in the space sector.
