JOB VACANCIES
The National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria’s apex regulatory agency for university education, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill vacant positions at its Headquarters in Abuja.
VACANT POSITIONS
a) Officer Cadre
– Trainee Officer II (CONITSS 7)
– Trainee/Officer I (CONITSS 8)
– Senior Officer (CONITSS 9)
Requirements:
Applicants must possess a first degree in disciplines relevant to the Commission’s mandate. Possession of additional professional qualifications will be an advantage.
b) Confidential Secretary Cadre
– Confidential Secretary I (CONITSS 7)
Requirements:
Applicants must possess at least a Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies plus at least three years’ post-qualification cognate experience.
c) Clerical and Auxiliary Staff Cadre
– Assistant Cameraman (CONITSS 5)
– Data Processing Assistant (CONITSS 5)
– Artisan/Craftsman (Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, Air Conditioning Mechanic) (CONITSS 4 or CONITSS 3)
– Lift Operator (CONITSS 4 or CONITSS 3)
– Motor Driver/Mechanic (CONITSS 4 or CONITSS 3)
Requirements:
Applicants must possess at least a National Diploma in either Cinematography or Mass Communication from a recognized institution. Relevant cognate experience will be an advantage.
Applicants for artisan and technical roles must have at least an ‘O’ Level Certificate or its equivalent and Class II/III Trade Test Certificate in the appropriate trade. Technical training and cognate experience in the relevant field shall be an advantage.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
– Applicants must be Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 50.
– Possess appropriate qualifications, competencies, skills, and orientation.
– NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required.
– Digital skills and computer literacy are mandatory for applicants for CONITSS 7-9.
– Applicants for Lift Operator must possess at least a First School Leaving Certificate, with technical training and experience in lift operation considered an advantage.
– Motor Driver/Mechanic applicants must have at least an ‘O’ Level Certificate or equivalent, Class II/III Trade Test Certificate for motor mechanic work, and a valid Class ‘C’ driving license.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
– Senior Officer (CONITSS 9):
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in disciplines relevant to the Commission’s mandate or a Master’s degree plus at least four years post-qualification cognate experience of a first degree plus at least six years post-qualification cognate experience. Possession of additional professional qualifications will be an advantage.
– Trainee/Officer I (CONITSS 8):
Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in disciplines relevant to the Commission’s mandate or a first degree plus at least three years post-qualification cognate experience. Possession of additional professional qualifications will be an advantage.
