Malteser International is the relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta for humanitarian aid. With over 100 projects annually in some 25 countries throughout Africa, Asia, and the Americas, we provide emergency relief after disasters and support recovery efforts with a focus on sustainable development.
For our office in Katsina, we are looking for a motivated candidate to engage as a Data Collector / Field Enumerator.

Location: Katsina State (with fieldwork in various implementing locations within the state)
Main Responsibilities/Tasks:
• Assist in collecting data as per the program requirements for its different implementing locations with the provided tools.
• Seek out respondents who fit the suggested profiles in assigned locations and collect data based on questionnaires developed and supplied by the program.
• Gather and accurately record responses via questionnaires using KOBO Collect provided by the Monitoring and Evaluation team.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of responses.
• Submit completed questionnaires/data and other equipment used in fieldwork to the research supervisor, and compile findings in a format required by the program if necessary.
• As part of each assignment, participate in briefings; carry out data collection, data entry, and/or reporting.
• Recognize and report problems encountered in obtaining data and provide useful feedback from field research activities.
• Work according to program needs and on a project-by-project basis.
Technical Skills:
• Ability to read and write in English with basic knowledge of Focus Group Discussion (FGD).
• Experience in data collection and reporting.
• Strong community engagement skills.
• Ability to perform all other work-related duties.
Selection Criteria – Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
• Minimum of an ND/NCE with proven ability to operate a smartphone.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and engage effectively with community members.
• Candidate must be an indigene of the titled location (where data collection will occur) with proven expertise in the local dialects of that community.
• Candidates must be above 18 years of age.
